We had beautiful sunny days and cold clear nights for our Thanksgiving Weekend cruise to Langley. It was a trip for the hearty to venture out for a November cruise and the full moon gave a glistening reflection on the water.  Those who made the trip were rewarded with some great times shopping, dining and caroling in the town park along with the arrival of Santa and the llamadeer  (or were they alpacadeer?)

A Thanksgiving weekend at Langley would not be complete without an evening at Dena and Sue’s.  These gracious ladies open their home each year to the cold and weary Milltown sailors for some holiday cheer and a festive potluck.  This year they welcomed 30+ people to their great room for an excellent evening of food, friends and fun!  Thanks to Slavek & Alicja and Marc & Peggy and Dena & Sue for providing rides to and from the harbor ferrying people and food to make this all work.  We had a blast.

A big A for effort to Skip for bringing a portable fire pit and outdoor heater.  It was just too darn cold to sit out on the dock at night!  We will certainly use it next year. “Nidaros” was the choice boat for gathering on and staying warm.

As we left the Langley marina on Sunday in the thick fog, we were thankful for all the sunshine we had earlier and for the great weekend we had building friendships.  A big “thank you” to all that sailed there to enjoy the weekend:  Grant and Linda on Mei Li; Dale and Edith on Cielo Sin Fin; Doug and Candy on Puffin; Harley and Sharon; Henning and Greta on Family Affair, Chip and Marianne on Endless; Bruce and Margo on Nidaros; Mark and Pam on Else and Dennis and Sue on Happy Seal.  I heard that there was a Dean and Deb sighting on Saturday as they toured the island on a road trip.  Whidbey was the place to be!
