Cruise Report Port Ludlow Marina March 15-18, 2012
We had a great turnout for the March Cruise to Port Ludlow Marina considering the weather has been less than balmy. No rain, however, in the picturesque bay that is Port Ludlow.
Saturday we caught a bus to Port Townsend and spent a couple of hours perusing the shops and had lunch in seaside cafes. That evening, our potluck feast included everything but corned beef and cabbage this year. We still managed to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Around the bonfire we exchanged stories and shared lots of laughs. Our Cruise Host, Margo and Bruce made sure we had marshmallows to roast on their “Redneck” roasters converted from golf clubs.
Darren Davis provided the entertainment with the grounding of Halcyon at the harbor entrance. Thanks to a passing fishing boat we haled, he was able to be pulled off the bottom by attaching the halyard to the fishing boat. It was quite an entertaining event, caught on tape for all to see. There is no mercy in front of your friends!
It was a great weekend of camaraderie and sailing. Thanks to those who made the weekend so much fun: Walt and Linda Drechsler (Lori bird), Darren and Pam Davis (Halcyon), Bruce and Margo Hayden (Northern Light), Slavek Michalowski (Baba), Mark and Pam Dittrich (Else), Marc and Peggy Ladd (Thumper) Tony and Moe Sitz (Rose), Rick and Carolyn Hunter, (Dabob), Scott and Kari Hogan and family, (Sojourn) To see photos of the cruise, go to photos Pam Dittrich and Margo Hayden Co-Cruise Captains Milltown Sailing Association |
